Annaprasana / Annaprashan
Annaprasana is a Hindu rite of passage ritual that marks an new born babies first intake of food (cooked rise) other than liquid foods. It literally means “food feeding” The ritual is usually arranged after consultation with a learned vedic priest who arranges an auspicious date on which to conduct the ritual
When to Perform Annaprasanam ?
★ The ritual is usually carried out when the child is six to eight months old
★ odd months for female baby
★ even months for boy baby
